Successful
Completion on 7th Gasholder
Seal Replacement

Dunwell
Engineering Co., Ltd. successfully
completed the 7th gasholder
seal replacement project for
the Drainage Services Department
of HKSAR on Jan., 2007. This
is also the 4th successful bid
for the similar project from
2003.
In
Hong Kong, there are ten methane
gasholders for storage of bio-gas/methane
generated by the sludge digestion.
They are located at Shatin,
Tai Po, Shek Wu Hui and Yuen
Long Sewage Treatment Works.
There are still two methane
gasholders that have not yet
replaced the gasholder seal.
The
new gasholder seal is specially
designed for storage of bio-gas/methane
generated from the sewage treatment
works. Comparing with the old
gasholder seal, the new one
is more durable, safe and higher
impermeability of methane. As
methane mixed with air would
explode when there is a spark,
adoption of the new gasholder
seal with effective impermeability
of methane is a critical safety
measure. The new gasholder seal
has been adopted in more than
100 gasholders over the world,
and it's proven to be an effective
measure to prevent inflammable
gas leakage.
In
the coming years, the sewage
treatment works of Hong Kong
would achieve higher safety
standard on storage of methane
by installation of new gasholder
seal.

Mr.
Joseph Carey is guiding
our workers to install
the new gasholder
seal. |
